Transfer of 'SHO Akhnoor' raises eye-brows
5/29/2014 11:06:27 PM
Early Times Report

JAMMU, May 29: Abrupt transfer of Station House Officer (SHO) Akhnoor has raised many eye brows with people questioning reasons for police authorities transferring an SHO when IGP Jammu is in valley and SSP Jammu was on leave.
However, the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) in his official version to media stated that the transfer was routine.
The question here is raised is if the transfer was routine matter then why only one SHO was handpicked and was replaced. Within the police this 'single transfer' is becoming a talk and rumours are in air that the transfer is politically motivated and as a step to appease some political mentors by some higher ups.
Sources within police said following the directions of their political mentors, SHO Akhnoor was attached especially when SSP Jammu Atul Geol was presently on leave and out of station. Meanwhile justifying the transfer, some senior officers in a tight lipped response briefly said that the single transfer/ attachment of SHO Akhnoor was a routine affair within department.
