Kashmir to observe strike on PM's first Visit to JK; security beefed up across Kashmir

Srinagar, July 1: Ahead of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi's Visit to Kashmir on July 4, Separatists have called for Kashmir bandh against the Visit.
Hardliner Syed Ali Shah Geelani (G) and members of Hurriyat 'conference Jammu and Kashmir' (HCJK) today asked people to observe complete shut down on July 4 against Prime Minister, Narendra Modi's Visit to Kashmir valley.
While asking people to observe complete shutdown on the arrival of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, separatist faction HCJK led by Shabir Shah,Nayeem Khan and others today said that 'Modi is coming here as a Prime Minister of a country which has usurped the right of self-determination of the residents and subjugated them'.
The HCJK said those who participate in welcome ceremony of Modi are paid agents and enemies of the movement.
Geelani in his statement stressed upon people of Kashmir to observe shutdown on July 4 against Modi's visit to Kashmir. Pertinently according to details received Modi will pay a one-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir on July 4, which is his first to the state after assuming office as Prime Minister of the country. According to reports, Prime Minister will first arrive in Jammu division of Jammu and Kashmir and then proceed to nearby Katra town to inaugurate the Katra-Udhampore train link that would cover a 25-km distance between Katra and Udhampore areas and ultimately would provide relief to lakhs of visitors visiting Vaishno Devi Temple every year.
The details reveal that besides others, Railways Minister of Narendra Modi's Cabinet, Sadananda Gowda and Minister of State in the PMO office Dr Jitender Singh will also be accompanying Prime Minister during his visit.
The details also reveal that The prime minister on reaching Srinagar will chair a security review meeting at the Badami Bagh headquarters of the army's 15 Corps which will be attended by Governor N.N. Vohra, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, general officer commanding-in-chief ,Northern Command, Lt. Ge. D.S. Hooda and the three corps commanders of the 14th,15th and the 16th Corps.
The Prime Minister in Kashmir is scheduled to visit Uri town in North Kashmir's Baramullah District to inaugurate the much awaited 240 MW Uri-II hydroelectric power project.
Meanwhile ahead of Prime Minister's visit to Kashmir security has been beefed up days before across the Kashmir and three-tier security system will be put in place in Kashmir on Modi's first visit to the area.
As part of security measures, on all entry and exit points to District head quarters Police and paramilitary forces have intensified frisking and reportedly team of 80 Special Protection Group Commandos have already arrived in Kashmir ahead of Prime Minister's visit.
