| NIA team in Kishtwar to probe Hawala racket | | | Asif Iqbal Naik KISHTWAR, July 1: A high profile 16 member team of the National Investigating Agency ( NIA) led by Dy.SP rank officer Anil Kumar arrived at Kishtwar today evening to probe Hawala Money transaction and funding to various militant organization working across the country to destabilize peace and tranquility in India. As soon as NIA team landed at Kishtwar under tight security cover it held a meeting with senior police officers at Kishtwar including with SP Kishtwar Sanjay Kotwal. After meeting with senior police officers at Kishtwar, the NIA called on a senior separatist leader of Kishtwar and questioned him for nearly half hour before they allowed him to go home. Later the team rushed to Dool area of the District along with a man detained by them from Bijbhira Srinagar; however the identity of the Bijbhira youth presently with NIA could not be ascertained. When contacted Superintendent of Police Kishtwar Sanjay Kotwal confirmed the arrival of NIA team in Kishtwar. He also confirmed that NIA team was investigating a Hawala transaction case, but refused to divulge any further details with regard to the investigation of NIA team. It is pertinent to mention that NIA has cracked the high profile September 7, 2011 Delhi High Court blast case in which 17 people died while several others injured after an email claiming responsibility of the blast traced to a local cyber cafe in Kishtwar. The two main accused Dr. Waseem Malik and his associate Amir Abbas Dev are presently lodged in Tihar Jail Delhi for their alleged involvement in the blast. |
