Early Times Report Jammu, July 1: During his recent visit to Jammu Lt Gen (Retd) NS Malik, President of Conclave of Defence Services Veterans (CDSV) launched its J&K Chapter. CDSV is a pan-India body of retired Defence Services Officers and prominent members of the civil society including retired IAS/IPS officers, educationists and professionals concerned for national security matters with Brig (retd) Anil Gupta as the President of the J&K Chapter. According to the spokesperson, the CDSV is engaged on the issues concerning multiple security challenges faced by the nation and the possible solutions by spreading security awareness among the public, particularly the youth through lectures, seminars, discussions etc. Keeping in view the prevailing security environment including threat from global jihadi outfits, CDSV proposes to organise talks/ lectures in schools and colleges throughout J&K. In his thanks giving address Brig Gupta requested the veteran officers and local intelligentsia to join the noble cause and assist CDSV in spreading the security awareness amongst the relevant sections of the society. Brig Gupta also appointed Brig (Retd) Madan Mohan. |
