Jammu ,July 5: Samba Police today slapped Public Safety Act (PSA) against one hardcore criminal involved in number of criminal cases, police sources said. The accused has been identified namely as Haji Bashir of Smailpur, sources said. According to police sources, Deputy Commissioner, Samba, R K Varma in his capacity as District Magistrate slapped PSA against above mentioned person to prevent them from indulging in prejudicial criminal activities. "The PSA was slapped against him after the compilation of records from various police stations of the district and preparation of the dossiers by Samba police against him, they added. Sources said that following the legal formalities fulfilled by Superintendent of Police (SP) Samba Anil Magotra, the Deputy Commissioner Samba R K Verma slapped PSA on Haji Bashir who is hard core criminal and was wanted in different cases. "Haji Bashir a resident of Smailpur allegedly was involved in many land grabbing and assault cases registered at various police stations, sources said. |
