| PMO unhappy with Omar's response | | | Early Times Report Jammu, July 5: The Prime Minister’s Office is quite unhappy with the cold reception mooted out to the Prime Minister by the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. The PMO is also unhappy with the statements issued by the Congress Minister, on the eve of the PM's visit. According to sources, the PMO is contemplating of taking a strong measure of not inviting CM Omar Abdullah in the future visit of the PM. The PMO was quite annoyed with the response of the CM. It was first visit of the Modi as a Prime Minister. Modi had tried to send a message of being sensitive to the State by making a trip to the troubled state so much early in his tenure. He is the first PM to visit the State in the first month of his tenure. The importance is gauged from the fact that his visit was to show that he is holding out arm to the people of the state and was aimed at starting conversation and dialogue with the people of the State. The PM was supposed to visit only Katra but then at late rescheduling it was decided to include Kashmir in his itinerary to send a message that he is specficially reaching out to the people of the Kashmir. The PM with sharing a dais with the CM was also an attempt to reach out the man, even though he had differences with him. The CM is the head of the State and represents the aspirations of the people, more so when he is from Kashmir. The fact that PM did not do much of the appeasing talking but send out a message in crisp manner was also because CM was guarded in his response. |
