Top Pak based JeM ultra killed in Tral encounter

Srinagar, July 5: In a joint operation the security forces today eliminated a Pak based top Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) militant in an encounter at at Aaripal- Patsuna Tral in Kashmir. Meanwhile, a serach operation has been launched in area to nab militants managed to flee away from the village.
Official sources identified the slain militant as Adil Pathan, alias Madni of JeM outfit from Pakistan. Official sources said that acting on a specific information about the presence of 2-3 militants at Aripal village of Pastuna in Tral, the joint team of army's 42 RR, 35 RR and SOG Budgam, SOG Tral, laid a cordon in the area at around 4:30 am today.
On seeking the troops approaching, the militants hiding in the Aripal village opened fire and tried to escape from cordon, police sources said, adding that in retaliation forces opened the fire upon the fleeing ultras which triggered an encounter. "In the firing incident a militant sustained bullet injuries and managed to escape towards nearby forest area", sources said, adding that one soldier also sustained bullet injuries and has been hospitalized in the nearby hospital.
Later in the morning, the joint team of forces conducted searches in the nearby forest area where the injured militant found succumbed to injuries, sources said, adding that an AK-47 rifle, 60 rounds and 3 magazines were recovered from his possession.
Massive search operation have been launched in forest to track down the remaining militants who fled away from the village.
Meanwhile locals from Aripal , Tral in Pulwama staged protest following killing of a militant in an encounter with forces on Saturday. Official sources said that protesters allegedly set ablaze two vehicles of police, even as government forces resorted to aerial firing and teargas shelling to control the angry demonstrators.
When reports last came in, protests were going on in the area. No injury of reports were received either.
