| 1 killed, 7 injured in road mishap at Banihal | | | Early Times Report
Banihal, July 5: Tanker driver was killed and seven Delhi based Amarnath pilgrims injured on Jammu Srinagar National Highway late night when their vehicles fell down in deep gorge. Police reports said that the incident took place late last night on Jammu Srinagar highway near Nowgam Banihal when a tanker bearning registration number Jk02AR -5017 loaded with petrol was on its way from Jammu to Srinagar collided with Xylo vehicle bearing registration number DLYC-5839 which was coming from the opposite direction. Police said that the after the collision both the vehicles skidded from road in a 250 deepfeet george resulting the death of tanker driver on spot and injured seven Delhi based Amarnath pilgrims and driver of Xylo seriously. The pilgrims were on way to home after performing darshan from the holy Cave. After receiving the news of accident the locals, Army Jawans of nearby army camp and police rushed the spot and started the rescue operation. After giving the first aid to six seriously injured pilgrims referred to GMC hospital Jammu for further treatment. |
