| Mufti Sayeed's decisions ensured socio-economic development of J&K: Hamid Choudhary | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 5: People's Democratic Party (PDP) leader and party Co-ordinator for Jammu-Poonch Parliamentary constituency, Abdul Hamid Choudhary today said that party patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed during his tenure as chief minister had taken many historic decisions initiating peace process which helped many alienated youth get into mainstream and established a rule of law in Jammu and Kashmir State besides cementing relations with neighbouring nations. Choudhary Hamid said that Mufti Mohammad Sayeed because of his visionary policies started many developmental projects, upgraded tourist spots, established educational institutions, raised level of healthcare and also held elections to urban local bodies only to decentralize powers. It was because of these historic decisions that people were made to be part of development in our state.
"Cross Line of Control (LoC) travel and trade started during his tenure made many parted families meet their dear ones after decades. These gestures are till today being considered as basis for initiating other Indo-Pak Confidence Building Measures (CBMs) which is a healthy sign, he underlined.He also recalled that it was during the tenure of Mufti Sayeed when appointment letters were distributed amongst the deserving ones in open and in front of people leaving no scope for backdoor entries but thinsg have become different on grounds.
"It's high time those reformative measures are started again but that's only possible once this corrupt and inefficient coalition government is thrown out of power, he added. Choudhary Hamid urged people to exercise their right of franchise during coming assembly elections in large numbers and throw this corrupt government out of power only to pave a way for credible and effective system of governance which no one other than Mufti Mohamamd Sayeed can ensure. Urging party workers and people of the state to strengthen hands of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, Choudhary Hamid said that time has come to return that era of peace and prosperity. "The party under the Presidentship of Mehbooba Mufti, he added had achieved success in recently concluded Lok Sabha polls and intends to repeat the same in coming assembly elections as well. |
