Early Times Report

Jammu, Jul 5: Jammu Province People Forum (JPPF) today expressed its concern against the mismanagement and maladministration in handling Shri Amarnathji Yatra-2014 resulting in its decline at the beginning stage.
Addressing a meeting Pavittar Singh Bhardwaj President blamed civil administration and Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB) for their non-seriousness and subsequent failure to provide sufficient facilities to the arriving yatries in the city for proceeding further to the Cave Shrine for darshan of the Holy Ice-lingam.
He said four Registration Counters established by the administration at Yatri Bhawan, Exhibition ground, Vaishnavi Dham and Sraswatidham which are are quite insufficient in view of large number of yatries who face humiliation by standing in queue for hours together.
"The chaos, confusion and the frustration among yatries is focing them to return to their homes or other places but without having darshan, he alleged. He said It seems that the state Govt and the SASB are not interested in facilitating yatra this year as no transport facilities have been made available to the yatries from Railway Station to Yatri Bhawan and the Registration counters at other places.
He made a fervent appeal to Civil administration and the SASB to gear up their administrative machinery and provide full facilities to the amaranth yatris. Prominent present in this meeting were Inderjeet Khajuria, S Gajan Singh Khajuria, Kr Narayan Singh, M S Katoch, Avinash Bhatia, Amrit Magotra, M L Sharma, Gajansingh Khalsa, Rajesh Thakur, Suneeta Sharma, BL Tandon, SPS Slathia and Rajeev Mahajan.
