JAMMU, July 8: Azad Cricket Club shall take on Rainawari Cricket Club (RCC) in the final of the Titu Memorial Twenty20 Cricket Tournament underway at Model School Satwari ground, here on July 13. In the second semifinal, Azad Club defeated Star Cricket Club by four wickets. Earlier, batting first, after winning the toss, Star Club set a target of 151 runs for nine wickets, which, in reply, Azad Club chased in 19.1 overs for six wickets. Sahil remained top scorer with 51 runs while Nishu and Prashant contributed 48 and 35 runs respectively. From Azad Club, Manik Gupta took four wickets while Raman Dutta bagged three. Vishal and Mini shared apiece each. Later, Azad Club chased the total for six wickets in 19.1 overs making 152 runs. Pardeep Bali and Sudhir were top scorers with 28 and 27 runs in their respective accounts. Amit Biloria added 24 runs. From Star Club, Kala emerged as most successful bowler with four wickets while Anil and Ashish took one each. For his four wickets haul, Manik Gupta named man of the match. Earlier, in the first semifinal, Rainawari Club defeated Evershine Cricket Club. Froome crashes on Tour de France, sustains bruises Lille (France), July 8: Defending champion Chris Froome crashed during the fourth stage of the Tour de France today, sustaining bruises on his left hip, shoulder, knee and elbow. The Briton fell off his bike five kilometres into the 163.5-km ride from Le Touquet and quickly got back to his bike. Froome, who is fifth overall two seconds behind Italian Vincenzo Nibali, crashed on the same side during last month`s Criterium du Dauphine. He was being helped back into the peloton with the help of his Sky team mates. |
