| Dental Surgeons continue their hunger strike on 4th consecutive day | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 8: Dental Surgeons Associations Jammu Kashmir(DSA-JK)today continued their fast unto death for the 4th consecutive day and their protest dharna for the 8th consecutive day at Amphalla Chowk Jammu and simultaneously at Press Enclave, Srinagar A large number of unemployed dental surgeons gathered at respective protest venues and raised slogans in support of their demands including absorption in government jobs. They alleged they have been protesting for last eight days but a single representative from the concerned authority or the Govt. has not come to listen to our grievances. President DSA-JK Asif Iqbal Chowdhary alleged why this Govt is not showing its concerns about the demands of DSA-JK and till now. President also said that the piling up of unemployment in dental sector in the state is only due to the failure of framing and executing the proper policy in relation to the dental health in the state. President Dr Chowdhary said that our agitation will not be called off till our demands are conceded to by the state government. Dr Chowdhary and others speakers while addressing the protestors reiterated their demands like Complete absorption of unemployed dental youth, Recruitment of dental surgeons on every year basis and Establishing separate directorate for dental health in the state. Meanwhile the health condition of Dental Surgeons who are on fast unto death in Jammu is deteriorating and one of them namely Dr Ankit Mahajan has been shifted to GMC Jammu during the late evening hours on Monday. |
