| Trader shot at over petty tiff, one held | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 8: A tension gripped in border town of R S pura when in broad day light murder, a shopkeeper was shot dead by a group of four persons including two jawan of Army over an unknown issue at village Shatrian in RS Pura, here on Tuesday. One of the accused has been arrested while manhunt is on to nab other absconding accused. The deceased has been Vinod Kumar son of Tirth Ram of Shatrian. Police sources while quoting some eyewitnesses said that Vinod had heated arguments with a group of four persons including Deepak Singh son of Ramesh Singh who is jawan of Territorial Army (TA), Manjeet Singh son of Surjeet Singh of JAKLI, Sonu brother of Manjeet Singh and one unidentified person which later took ugly turn. "Following the heated arguments, Vinod was shot by 12 bore gun by one of the four persons resulting severe injuries to Vinod, police sources said further adding, " the profusely bleeding injured was shifted to nearby hospital but he succumbed to his injuries on the way and was pronounced as brought dead. Police sources also added that main target of the miscreants was Anil Kumar, brother of deceased Vinod but they had a tiff with Vinod while questioning about their target 'Anil' resulting into their clash with deceased. Police sources further said that one of the accused Manjeet Singh has been arrested while Deepak along with three other persons managed to escape from spot. They added a massive manhunt is on to nab the rest of the accused who are evading their arrest till last report came in. Meanwhile all attempts to get comments from police authorities turned futile as majority of police officer remained tight lipped over the issue. |
