Amarnath Shrine Board increases yatri registration quota to 5000

JAMMU, July 8: In a significant move, the Shri Amarnathji Shrine board has increased quota for current registration of yatries to 5000 yatries per day.
This information was given in a meeting chaired by Divisional Commissioner Jammu Shantmanu convened to review the facilities being provided to yatries at Yatri Niwas Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu here today.
Director Tourism, Jammu, Soujanya Sharma, informed the Divisional Commissioner that sufficient quota is being released for the current registration of yatries and there is no back log. The registration quota for each route i.e Baltal Route and Pahalgam Route has been increased to 5000 yatries per day.
It was apprised in the meeting that for current registration of yatris at Jammu Haat, two more new counters have been created to cater to heavy rush of yatris.
The Div Com reviewed the status of all facilities like power, drinking water, sanitation, transport, security, langar arrangements and related services being made available to the Amarnathji yatries. He directed the concerned departments to make sure that the pilgrims donot face any hardship on account of basic amenities. Later, Divisional Commissioner along with Deputy Commissioner, Jammu Ajeet Kumar Sahu and other senior functionaries of various departments took round of Yatri Niwas at Bhagwati Nagar and reviewed arrangements made by the administration for the convenience of the pilgrims.
The Divisional Commissioner interacted with the pilgrims and enquired about the facilities being provided to them. He directed the concerned officers to make adequate arrangements for comfortable journey and stay of Yatris in the state.
Among others Additional Commissioner, Rehana Batool, SSP Jammu Uttam Chand, Commissioner JMC Kiran Wattal and other senior officers of various departments were also present on the occasion.
