Poonch, July 8 : Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Poonch of Shere Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology Jammu (SKUAST-Jammu) distributed five hundred chicks of breed RIR and Chabra under Front Line Demonstrations in the cluster of village's viz., Jhullas, Salotri, Chhazla, Mankot and Ucchad of district Poonch. Chicks were distributed for back yard poultry to the fifty poor and needy farmers for increasing their income. Five quintal of maize hybrids (Rasi4794 and Deklab) seeds were distributed among 67 farmers for front line demonst -rations in the villages Jhulas, Salotri, Dara, Mankot, Ucchad and Chhazla and 02.25 quintal of rice hybrid Pusa-6129 were distributed under FLDs of Paddy in Salotri. Fifty FLDs were also conducted in the current kharif season for Insect Pest Management in Rajmash in the villages Loran, Mandi, and Rajpura. This crop has great importance in the Jammu division due to their local germplasm. |
