| Sarpanches open revolt against coalition government | | | Early Times Report Srinagar, 8 : Raising banner of revolt against the coalition government led by Omar Abdullah in the state, the valley based Sarpanches and Panches have announced to teach this government lesson in the coming assembly elections. The decision was taken in a day long convention of Panchayat members organized by All Jammu and Kashmir Panchayat Conference (an amalgam organization of elected Panches and Sarpanches of the state) at summer capital Srinagar on Tuesday. The decision was announced by All Jammu and Kashmir Panchayat Conference Chairman Shafiq Mir in a press conference soon after the convention. Soon after the largely attended convention, Shafiq Mir, Chairman AJKPC said that the present government has not only deceived the Panchayat members it has also failed on all fronts of development, justice and delivery.Mir said, in the day long convention, the Panchayat leaders have decided either to field own candidates in the assembly elections or to support any other party because the present government in the state has proved worst and corrupt government in the history of Jammu and Kashmir.The panchayat amalgam gave one week deadline to the government and warned that if their demands are not met, government should be ready to face the consequences. |
