| Kumari villagers demand tube well | | | Early Times Report Kathua, July 8 : Residents of village Kumari of Panchayat Kathera urged the State Government to provide a "Tube Well" to address the long prevailing water shortage in the area. While raising their demands, the prominent villagers Panjab Singh, Dharam Singh, Lekh Raj, Taj Din, Shoba Rani, and Chanchla Devi said near about 1000 families are living without proper water facility and are forced to drink the water from a well which is bacterial contaminated. In order to provide few water connections, the PHE Department has laid a web of pipes connecting with a tube well which is constructed at nearby Panchayat but the further working of the PHE suspended and still pending to provide the water, said by people. They urged the administration and State Government to provide a separate tube well for 1000 families of the Kumari and its surrounding villages of Panchayat Kathera so that water crisis could be curbed. |
