| Omar shedding crocodile tears for Jammu: Ex MLC Mahajan | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 8: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has taken to the task Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah for shedding crocodile tears while showing his concerns for Jammu region at the last leg of the coalition government's tenure. Former MLC and Senior leader of PDP, Ved Mahajan while criticizing chief minister Omar Abdullah here today said for the last five years and seven months Chief Minister has maintained a silence over Jammu's woes but now he has been trying to projecting himself as well-wisher of Jammu. Mahajan raised questions about his intension and said that Omar has realized that his party National Conference (NC) is not going to get adequate numbers from valley in the forthcoming Assembly elections so all of sudden he started showing his concerns for Jammu and this seems to be merely political motivated. Senior PDP leader Mahajan said Omar Abdullah and his cabinet colleagues from Jammu were very much aware of the fact that with the extension of trains to Katra the business of Jammu will suffer a lot but since formation of NC led coalition has done nothing to complete various tourism projects like Tawi lake, Mubarak Mandi cable car project, Border Tourist Circuit, Gharana Wetland, Religious Tourist Circuit and improving tourism infrastructure in and around Jammu. Mahajan also questioned Omar if he was aware about the fact that with the start of the Udhampur- Katra rail line Jammu will meet the fate of Pathankot, why he remained a silent spectator and not increased the pace of developmental projects to divert maximum number of Vaishno Devi pilgrims to the winter capital. He said that in coming election the ruling coalition partners has to pay for it and will be rooted out from the state politics. |
