Early Times Report

Jammu, July 8 : Terming the Railway Budget as old wine in new bottle for Jammu and Kashmir, JKPCC has said that it offered nothing new to the state where over one crore pilgrims visit annually apart from normal passengers. Ravinder Sharma (MLC) Chief Spokesman JKPCC said that BJP government had already announced unprecedented hike in Railway fare and freight rates before the budget, so it is wrong to suggest that this budget is without any hike in fare and freight.
During Congress led UPA regime always massive funds were provided for railways connectivity in the state but there is no major initiative for the state. Sharma said that the budget is disappointing for the country especially for the state including Rajouri and Poonch, as proposed railway project from Jammu to Poonch needed all out priority.
