Azad, Kichloo, Tak express shock, grief over Sinthon Top tragedy

Jammu, July 8: The loss of precious human lives in Sinton Top accident has been widely mourned with various political leaders and social organizations expressing concern over the frequent accidents taking place in the hilly areas of Jammu region. Leader of Opposition, Rajya Sabha and former Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Ghulam Nabi Azad has expressed profound grief and shock over the loss of precious lives in a road accident at Sinthan Top in which nine state government employees were killed.
Demanding adequate compensation for the families of deceased employees, Azad said that since they were travelling with the intention of carrying out their official responsibilities and it will be imperative to compensate their families adequately. Reiterating his stand to have a 'Comprehensive Action Plan' for containing the rising number of accidents in Chenab region, Azad said that State Government needs to take immediate steps to address this issue, as delay is leading to loss of precious lives and quality human resource on almost daily basis. In his condolence message Minister of State (MoS) for Home Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo also has expressed grief and shock over the loss of nine human lives in tragic accident at Sinthan top.After hearing about the news of accident, Kichloo immediately rush to the accident spot in state chopper and supervised the rescue operation, beside shifted the dead bodies of all the deceased to their native place.In his condolence to the bereaved families, Kichloo termed the loss as irreparable loss and prayed to Almighty Allah to give peace to the departed souls and to give strength to the bereaved families to bear the irreparable loss.
He said that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has also announced Rs One lakh compensation to the next of kins of the deceased. Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader and party candidate for Kishtwar assembly segment, Firdous Tak while conveying his heartfelt condolences and deep sympathies to the bereaved families regretted that deaths on road has become a routine affairs but the state government has not nothing to stop such tragedies. In a statement issued here today, party's contesting candidate from Kishtwar Tak expressed shock and grief over the tragedy and demanded adequate compensation for the aggrieved families. Meantime Tak also said that there was a need to take some emergent steps to avoid re-occurance of tragedies on the roads.
