Kishtwar, July 17: The infighting between Ghulam Nabi Azad and Prof Saif ud Din Soz groups of Congress party in Kishtwar once again came to fore after Azad group elected its own block president claiming that the incumbent Block President having proximity with Soz group is unfit to carry forward the party activities, beside dubbed him as National Conference agent. The decision in this regard was taken during an emergent meeting of Congress leaders held at residence of senior Congress leader and MLA Inderwal Ghulam Mohammad Saroori wherein all the executive members of District Congress Committee/Block Congress committee affiliated with former Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad participated and further demanded that party mandate from Kishtwar constituency to be given to veteran Congress leader Ghulam Haider Sheikh. During the course of the meeting the participant said Ghulam Haider Sheikh who secured over 14000 votes in 2002 elections is only capable and genuine candidate from Congress party in Kishtwar. The participants said that they are sure that by restoring mandate to Sheikh from Kishtwar constituency will help the party to win 2014 Assembly election. The participants also upped ante against JKPCC President Prof Saif ud Din Soz backed District President Pardeep Singh Parihar as well as Block President Kishtwar Haji Ghulam Hassan Mir and termed them as "B" team of National Conference and allege that both are involved in anti-party activities. They said that due to their poor performance, the Congress has been divided in so many groups, added that some hard core workers were forced to leave the party by the Soz group backed Congress leaders. They allege that both the leaders are openly motivating the Congress workers to join the hands of National Conference for their vested interests, which were brought into the notice of High Command since 2008. They said that keeping in view of the upcoming 2014 Assembly elections, the Congress active workers in large has been observed that existing Block president Kishtwar is aged, inefficient due to his handicap and is unable to work in this block. They added that due to the said reason, the group has been unanimously decided to replace Tariq Hussain Mintoo as new Congress Block President Kishtwar and termed him as senior, dynamic and dedicated active worker of Congress party for the last twenty years. During the course of the meeting, participants resolved that the copy of this resolution be submitted to party high command Smt. Sonia Gandhi, Ghulam Nabi Azad, Ambica Soni and Saif-Ud-Din Soz for immediate approval. The prominent among those Mushtaq Ahmed Hap, Sarpanch Kailash Thakur, Sarpanch Noor Hussain, Sarpanch Satish Kumar, Sarpanch Ghulam Mohammad, Captain Jagdish, Sarpanch Sharwan, Sarpanch Mohammad Yusuf, Sarpanch Mohammad Hameed, Sarpanch Shahnawaz, Sarpanch Mohammad Saleem, Krishan Lal, Ravi Shan, Mahinder Singh Parihar, Ghulam Hussain Shah, Firdous Mingnoo, Ranjeet Kumar, Surjeet Badyal, Shankar Wazir, Jaffar Hussain, Ghulam Hussain Shah and others. |
