| Omar emptying treasuries to adjust NC workers: PDP | | 'It's ministers demand HAFTA from sub-ordinates' | | Early Times Report Srinagar, July 17: The Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP) Thursday in a scathing attack against the ruling national conference stated that the government at present is hell- bent upon creating difficulties for the next government. "NC is trying to make the state ungovernable with the false announcements being made about the jobs and developmental works. Reality is that during these last days of the tenure, NC wants to adjust their workers and relatives in the government," said PDP chief spokesman Naeem Akhtar. He told KNS that the state treasuries are running dry with the payment of hundreds of crores pending to the contractors and other agencies. "The state government is deceiving people in the name of jobs. All claims are hanging in air as none can be implemented on ground." He state that Omar Abdullah claims to empty the treasuries for people, he has already done that for his own comforts while enjoying the luxuries of power for the last six years. "In Srinagar alone, there are around 500 crores pending for the contractors and new tenders are being issued. Scores are people are aghast as their GP funds applications are gathering dust in the government offices." Over the announcement of the administration units to start functioning, PDP chief spokesman stated that it is bizarre that new ration depots are being started and there is a huge scarcity of ration in the already functional ration depots. "We are really afraid that where from the funds for the operation of new units would come. The aim of such announcements is just to engage the NC workers in government offices" He stated that during the last days of the government, NC is leaving no stone unturned to 'loot' the state exchequer. "In the education department, huge frauds are being backed by the government. Rates have been fixed for the transfer of teachers in the education department and also the ministers are openly demanding HAFTA from their sub-ordinates. |
