| BAJ condemns ceasefire violation in RS Pura sector | | | Early Times Report Jammu, July 17: Bar Association Jammu (BAJ) has strongly condemned the ceasefire violation in RS Pura sector on Wednesday in which a jawan lost his life. In an emergent meeting held under the chairmanship of its President M K Bhardwaj, BAJ strongly condemned the ceasefire violation in R S Pura sector by the Pak Rangers. An appeal was made to the Government of India to tackle such situations more effectively without suffering the loss of any person and property and an atmosphere for peace initiatives started by the present dispensation must be continuous, so that the people residing in the border areas and security agencies engaged in the process do not feel disheartened and their morale remains high. Principal Medical College and Hospital, Jammu was also appealed to provide best possible treatment to the injured persons for speedy recovery. A condolence meeting for the brave soldier who laid down his life for the honour and security of the nation was also held and it was prayed to the almighty to give strength to the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss. The members present also prayed the almighty to give strength to the families of those who attained martyrdom and for the early recovery of those who got injured in this cease violation in R.S. Pura Sector by Pak Rangers. In the meanwhile, a delegation of the representatives of Dental Surgeon Association today met the President and other office bearers of the J&K High Court Bar Association and sought support of the bar association for their genuine and reasonable demand. After thorough deliberations regarding the demands of the Dental surgeon association, BAJ decided to support the genuine case of the dental surgeon in an emergent meeting of the Bar association which was chaired by Bhardwaj who appealed to the government to accede to the genuine demands of the association. Members of the Dental Surgeon Association are also undertaking fast unto death from July 4 last. Some of the members whose health is deteriorating due the fast unto death were also shifted to the hospital. Bhardwaj appealed to the state government to generate employment for the dental surgeons and also to fill the vacant posts of the dental surgeons. The meeting was also attended by other BAJ office bearers -- Sindhu Sharma (Vice-President), Ranjit S. Jamwal (General Secretary), Prem Sadotra (Joint Secretary), Gurveer Singh (Cashier) and YLA members. —JNF |
