| Udhampur Shootout: PSA slapped on accused | | | Early Times Report
Udhampur, Aug 4: District Administration Udhampur slapped Public Safety Act (PSA) on accused involved in recent Udhampur Shootout and other criminal activities and has sent him to Central Jail Kot Bhalwal.
As per police sources, a criminal namely Sushant Sharma of H. No. 251, W No.01 Subash Nagar, Udhampur involved in Udhampur shootout case was today sent to Central Jail Kot Bhalwal under Public Safety Act (PSA).
On July 24, the above said accused Sushant Sharma had resorted to firing upon one Rocky Gupta S/o Manohar Lal Gupta R/o Lambi Gali Udhampur. However with hectic efforts the said accused was arrested by District Police Udhampur within 72 hours.
Police spokesperson said during the investigation it was found that accused Shushant Sharma is a notorious criminal who has criminal background and 06 Nos of cases stand registered against him under Arms Act, attempt to murder and murder since the year 2001. "The criminal activities of the said accused remained unabated and during the recent period he has entered into murky land deals, police said and added, "keeping in mind the sensitivity of the situation and creation of an environment of threats/terror, the accused has been got booked under Public Safety Act by District Police Udhampur and further lodged at Kot Bhalwal Jail Jammu." |
