| Council adds track suits money in grant-in-aid to Associations | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Aug 4:Giving more to the state sports associations, the J&K State Sports Council has decided to add cost of the track suits, to be given to the selected teams heading for the national level competitions, in the projected grant-in-aid. This was decided by the autonomous sports body on the instructions of the vice-president and Sports Minister, Raman Bhalla through an order No. 298 dated May 13. The order reads: "The Sports Council shall provide cost of the track suits on approved rates to the recognized state sports associations as part of the grant-in-aid on proper requisition". Issued with the instructions to implement with immediate effect, the copies of the order have been circulated to all the recognized associations only recently. It is important to mention here that the State Sports Council has already added to the grants of the Associations the money meant for the refreshment to the players attending to the mandatory coaching camps prior to their participation at the national level competitions. However, it has been learnt reliably that only a few associations pass on the refreshment money to the players on the pretext that the same has not been received from the Sports Council. |
