`Light & sound show totally an army affair'

Jammu, Aug 4: A light and sound show conceived by the army for public viewing was organised at Balidan Stamb turned out to be a totally an army affair.
The show which was supposed to commence at 7.45 pm to 8 pm, was delayed by half an hour due to late arrival of chief guest GOC Tiger Division.
There were army personnel in civvies and their families occupying the chairs and of course chairs were meant for media also.
Media men said the snacks were provided to army and their families and not to the scribes.
Divisional Commissioner Jammu, DC Jammu and Director Tourism were conspicuous by their absence. According to sources, they were not invited notwithstanding army wish to make it a tourist spot.
The JKP men who are on duty to protect it were also not invited. This Balidan Stamb which was thrown open to public in 2009 has triggered controversies.
It is in shambles. In his address, GOC Tiger Division mentioned that light and sound show has been started today. However, the light and sound show was started in 2009 but was stopped for unknown reasons.
