| Favouritism in Health Department hits patient care: DAK | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Aug 4 : President Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) Dr Nisar- ul- Hassan said that favouritism in Health Department has badly hit patient care in Kashmir hospitals. As per statement of DAK, the influential doctors in health department get prize postings in and around Srinagar or to their places of convenience. In a brazen violation of transfer policy health department recently transferred 7 health officers prematurely in just 2 days of their postings to favor blue eyed. The favorite doctors enjoy the privilege of their convenient postings for decades thus flouting transfer rules. The transfers of doctors to far flung areas are cancelled under political pressure in a jiffy. Recently a blue eyed lady doctor got her transfer modified by Director Health in days which is contrary to transfer policy mandate. Many favorite specialist doctors belonging to health are posted in Government Medical College Srinagar and SKIMS on adhoc/contractual basis thus depriving patients in far flung areas of specialist care. The doctors in Health Department instead of focusing on patient care try to secure their places of postings. This favoritism in health department has taken toll on patients in far flung areas and they are referred to Srinagar for even minor ailments. The transfer and posting of doctors in health department has turned into an industry to favor influential and earn money thus placing the well being of patients in serious jeopardy. |
