Over 75 Kgs of Nagchattri recovered in Doda

Jammu, Aug 4: Police claimed to have recovered over 75 kgs of banned forest produce (Nagchattri) in two separate incidents in Doda district. Concerned police have registered respectivce cases in this regard and have started further investigations.
According to police, following specific information about smuggling of banned forest produce, a police party from Bhagwah Police Post laid a naka and intercepted one suspect identified namely as Surjeet Singh of Mangal Thatha.' "During his personal checking recovered 15 Kgs 400 grams of Forest Produce (Nagchattri) from his possession, police spokesperson said further adding, "a case against FIR No 146/2014 u/s 379 RPC, 6 Forest Act stands registered at Police Station Doda against accused person while further investigation of the case is on. Police spokesperson from Doda also added that besides this police also recovered 60 Kgs unclaimed Nagchattri abandoned at Khellani road. "In this regard, case has been registered under DD No 19 at PP Khellani Doda U/S 6 Forest Act and further investigation is on, he added.
