Kathua, Aug 11: The residents of Panchayat "Chan Arorian" of Hiranagr today staged a protest against the ongoing water crisis in the Panchayat. While leading the protest, Sarpanch of the Panchayat K.R Raina said that people of the Panchayat are facing lot of trouble due to the ongoing water crisis which is being caused due to the negligence of PHE Department. He said that both administration as well as PHE Department is equally responsible for carrying the miseries for the people with the shortage of water. The motor is un-functional from the last one month and not even a drop of water is available to meet out the thirst of people since then. And even the temperature is more than 40 degrees but still there is no supply of water in the houses for the last one month and the PHE Department never comes out of its long sleep, he added. He added that the current situation of Panchayat is even worse than crude dry regions of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh and the protest will continue till further respite. In the protest, Madhu Bala, Pushpa, Bandana Devi, Anita Devi, Neelam Devi, Dr, Suraj Parkash, Bittu Mahajan, Sanjay Kumar, Janak Raj and many others were present. |
