| Hand pump of GHS Nichla lying defunct for three months | | | Early Times Report
Samba, Aug 11: On one hand state government, boasts of uplifting standard of education and providing all sort of facilities in the government educational institutions on the other hand the realities at ground level are quite different one such instance can be seen at Government High School Nichla where hand pump of is laying defunct for the last three months. As many as 250 students are studying in this school who are facing the problem of drinking water in this monsoon. People alleged that not only PHE department but also local representatives of Panchayat, responsible for the hardship of students concerning drinking water. Sham lal, Das Raj, Pawan Sharma, Mohan lal, local residents said that despite gigantic expansion programs in education sector, the High School of village Nichla in Ghagwal is still a blind alley for the villagers, the education policy makers will have to realize and need to rethink their strategies. He said, "Recently he heard a state minister terming education as potent tool to bring positive developmental outcomes in any society. The minister further added that state government with the liberal funding of the central government is keen in bridging the gap between schools and students by opening more educational institutions with all necessary infrastructures' in every habitation across the state." The fact is that still there are schools, which are not having facilities of drinking water and sanitation, he miffed. |
