PDP (Y) President Kishtwar gets bail in 'assault case'

Kishtwar, Aug 11: Peoples Democratic Party (Youth) President Kishtwar Mohammad Umar Malik who was booked by Kishtwar police in an assault case against FIR No. 169/2014 today surrendered before SHO Police Station Kishtwar and later was granted bail after he alongwith his two accomplice furnished bail bond to the tune of Rs. 5000 each. Meanwhile supporters of PDP Youth President condemning the FIR against their leader held protest at various places across the Kishtwar.
Peoples Democratic Party (Youth) President Kishtwar Mohammad Umar Malik who was booked by Kishtwar police in an assault case against FIR No. 169/2014 U/S 323,341,504,506 RPC today surrendered along with two co accuse Dilbagh Singh and Ranjeet Kumar before SHO Police Station Kishtwar Sameer Jeelani and later the trio was bailed out following all the three accused furnished bail bond to the tune of Rs 5000 each. According to reports, earlier a large number of PDP youth activists and supporters assembled at the residence of district PDP president Malik and extended support to him and also condemned the FIR registered against him.
However in a brief addressing to the gathering at his residence, PDP Youth President asked his supporters to remain united and strengthen the party at grass route level in Kishtwar District. He also advice the party workers and supporters not to take law into their own hands termed the registration of an FIR against him as politically motivated. He said they will fight it in the court of law on legal grounds.
Meanwhile supporters of PDP Youth President held protest at Dool, Galhar and Bhunzwar and condemn the registration of an FIR by the police against him.
Pertinent to mention here that one Mohammad Imran Shah, a photo journalist with local Urdu daily, lodged complaint regarding assault with Kishtwar police following which police registered an FIR against PDP Youth President Mohammad Umar Malik and two other union leaders.
