| AJKPAAA continues protest for 3rd day, demands regularization | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 11: All Jammu & Kashmir Polytechnic Academic Arrangements Association (AJKPAAA) held massive protests in both Jammu Division and Kashmir Division consecutively third day demanding their regularisation of services at the Director's offices in both the divisions. Atul Sudan President AJKPAAA Jammu Division said that more than two-third faculty working in the various polytechnics all across the state have been appointed as contractual lecturers on Academic Arrangement and many of them have been working for nearly two decades and as such the fate of the lecturers is hanging in balance as several lecturers have turned over age /inelligible for govt. services and hence the association has reiterated its demand for regularisation of services of the lecturers by urging the govt to frame a suitable regularisation policy. He demanded that the if director Technical Education does not intervene to address the grievances of the lecturers than AJKPAAA would resort to fast unto death and the govt shall be held responsible for the dire consequences . In Kashmir where several contractual lecturers of Polytechnics are observing fast unto death were maltreated by the director and other officials. Meanwhile, Abdul Qayoom Wani President EJAC (Employee Joint Action Committee) has assured his full support to the cause of the suffering lecturers of AJKPAAA. He said that EJAC shall stand with the solidarity of the lecturers in all odds and circumstances. |
