| No link between Kousar Nag Yatra, Kashmiri Pandits rehabilitation: Singh | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 11: The Home Minister Raj Nath Singh said there is no link between the participation of Kashmiri Pandits in Kausar Nag Yatra with their rehabilitation. He said the government is committed to rehabilitate and facilitate the return of Kashmiri Pandits back to Valley. Union Home minister made this statement in response to a Calling Attention Notice on the decision to discontinue Kausar Nag Yatra in South Kashmir. It was the second time in the current session of the Parliament that Kousar Nag, which was disrupted by the separatists, was discussed in the parliament. Union Home Minister said that the rehabilitation of the Kashmiri migrants is a national issue and not a political one and suggested that House should adopt a resolution in this regard. The stern message of the Union Home Minister will surely disrupt the plans of the separatists who were trying to disrupt the Yatra with the bigger sinister plan of stopping the return of the KPs to the valley. The separatists and their supporters are trying to create a fear psychosis by such disruption. The statement is significant on account of the fact that BJP government had already announced an initial package of Rs 500 crore for the return of the KP and this is likely to be enhanced. The Union Home Minister with his tough talking has made it clear that the Yatra will not only be continued but its disruption would be taken very seriously. The former deputy prime minister making an intervention said that the house committee of the Home Ministry had already submitted its report with the regard to the return of the KPs and the House should rather discuss it. The statement by the BJP patriarch and the home minister reflects the serious thinking of the Modi government on the return KPs but also to take on the Separatists with the iron hand. |
