JAMMU, Aug 11: Ricky Kumar of Government Higher Secondary School, Bahu Fort bagged the below 75 kg gold in the inter-school boxing competition of Jammu district held under the banner of Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) at MA Stadium, here today.
For the first place, Ricky defeated Ashutosh Sharma of MIER School. Similarly, the below 81 kg gold went to Prashant Sharma of Delhi Public School (DPS), who beat Rahul Sharma of Blue Birds HSS Janipur.
In below 91 kg final, Rajat Sharma of SRML Higher Secondary School defeated Satvik Raina of MIER School.
The below 69 kg bout claimed by Vishesh Sharma of GHSS Jhiri after he beat Sahil Sharma of BSF Paloura in the final. In below 48 kg category, Sunny Taryal of Government Higher Secondary School Bantalab trounced Mukesh Kumar of Government Boys HSS Sarwal.
In 64 kg bout, Sunil Kumar of GHSS Bantalab defeated Shubam Langer of MIER School to clinch the first place.
In three other weight categories of below 51 kg, below 57 kg and below 60 kg, there was either no opponent or the opponent disqualified for lack of technical skills. However, to raise the Jammu district team, Sandeep Singh (below 51 kg) of Shobha Model HSS Jammu, Chander Dev Singh (below 57 kg) of Universal HSS and Viney Partap Singh (below 60 kg) of Government HSS Jakh were declared winners in respective weight groups. |
