JAMMU, Aug 11: Delhi Public School (DPS) clinched the inter-school district level under-19 boys' badminton tournament, organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) at BSF Stadium, here today. In the title clash, DPS boys outplayed MIER School 2-0. In singles, Bhubneshwar defeated Nitesh in straight easy sets of 21-03, 21-01. Later in doubles, Bhaskar and Vibhor Jain beat Sachin Chib and Nitesh 2-0 (21-11, 21-16). Meanwhile, in girls' under-19 competition, started today, MIER School reached the final outplaying JK Public School 2-0. In other first round matches, Heritage School registered a 2-0 win against DPS while JK Public downed Government Girls Higher Secondary School Nagrota. JAMMU, Aug 11: Sukhdev Raj Sharma has taken over as new District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Jammu relieving Deputy Director, Jammu, Ved Parkash Sharma of the additional charge. The post of district officer was lying vacant after the retirement of Tirath Ram in March last. Before his appointment as district officer, Sukhdev was working as Senior Physical Education Lecturer at Government Higher Secondary School, Pallanwala in tehsil Akhnoor. |
