| Court upholds two year Imprisonment to Tata-Sumo Driver | | | Jammu, Sept 8: Principal Sessions Judge Kathua Justice Vinod Chatterji Koul upheld the two years imprisonment to Davinder Singh S/o Sukhvinder Singh, Caste Jat R/o Sarna Tehsil and District Pathankot (Punjab) who was facing trial in accident case. According to the police case on 10.03.2006, an information through reliable source was received by the police of Police Station, Kathua that one Tata sumo bearing registration No.PB01-3557 was being driven rashly and negligently by its driver from Jammu towards Pathankot and when the said vehicle reached near BSNL, Exchange national Highway, Barnoti at about 2330 hours, the driver lost control over the same and collided with Maruti Car bearing registration No. PB02/9255 and because of the collusion one passenger sitting in the car expired on spot, whereas other passengers received injuries. On getting this information FIR No.93/2006 for the commission of offences punishable under section 279/337/304-A RPC was registered and after completion of investigation challan was presented and Magistrate had awarded two years imprisonment to the accused person against that order of conviction present appeal was filed. Principal Sessions Judge Kathua Justice Vinod Chatterji Koul after gone through the grounds taken in appeal, dismissed the appeal and sent the accused to District Jail for serving the sentence of two years awarded by the Trial Court. |
