| JKESL hails role of Army, IAF in flash floods | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 24: Jammu and Kashmir Ex- Services League (JKESL) today appreciated the efforts of Army, Air Force in flash floods across the state. While sympathizing with the flood sufferers in the state the members of JKESL conveyed appreciation to the Army and Air Force for helping the victims through unprecedented response by number of sorties, evacuation and relief even surpassing the Jammu and Kashmir floods. JKESL President Goverdhan Singh Jamwal said, "Our hearts go to the effected families both in the Jammu Division and the Valley". It was decided during the meeting to arrange some relief from the Indian Ex-Services League for which the Ex-Servicemen are advised to contact the District Presidents and send their request giving the details of the losses suffered by them. Except the Army and the Air Force there was no one else visible on the vital days. Disaster Management forces were conspicuously absent of course volunteers, as always happens, rose to the occasion. |
