| `NC led coalition Government is a total failure' | | | Shakeel A Khan SRINAGAR, Sept 24: The National Conference (NC) lead Government has proved to be a total failure with Omar Abdullah winning the dubious distinction of becoming the weakest Chief Minister of the state. On the one hand if the flood fury has devastated Kashmir , it is also going to be the last nail in the coffin of the coalition partners, National Conference and Congress given their weak response in the wake of the devastating flood. Even after the 21 days when the flood hit the Valley, there is no clue about the Government machinery which has failed to deliver in this hour of crisis. The Government machinery is acting cruelly by not approaching to the sufferers with the relief material. It is worth annoying that when the Ministers and the bureaucrats should have been at the disposal of those who are in grief, are nowhere to be found. "The Government has left us to perish. The authorities are expecting the things to become normal. The Ministers and the bureaucrats have gone into hiding leaving the people at the mercy of God. These people don't know how we are living our moments. We are helping ourselves with some biscuits and water that has been a exercise for the last 16, 17 days. These biscuits are not provided by the Government but by the volunteers who have been doing this job tirelessly," said Mohammad Shafi from Bemina. Shafi lamented that the Government machinery has become rusty which has left the people to suffer instead coming to their help. Shafi didn't stop here as he went on saying that it is the same people who kiss the feet of the people when they need them. The failure of the Government, as Shafi says, is so much that an egg has been sold for 11 rupees and a petrol liter for 250 rupees as the hoarders and the profiteers are enjoying themselves since the Government is missing for the last 20 days. It is the general perception of the people of Kashmir valley that whether they live or die, the people in power have nothing to do with that. As per these people the coalition Government headed by the ever weak Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, has been completely exposed and his claims that he is for the people, is totally misleading and misguiding as he couldn't prove himself in the testing times or when the people needed him the most. Pervaiz Ahmad, a businessman from Srinagar said that it was time for the Omar Abdullah lead Government to act in the real terms but he has proved himself as the Chief Minister on the paper only and he should not hope for retaining the chair of power. |
