| Whose cause Bhim Singh promotes? | | Sailing against the wind | | Rustam JAMMU, Sept 24: Chief patron of JKNPP Bhim Singh is known for sailing against the wind and causing damage after damage to his own outfit, which was established several years ago and continues to be marginal outfit. He has always been inconsistent. He himself demands an amendment to Article 370, but opposes the other critics of this anti-people, anti-democratic and divisive Article. He himself suggests the Governor Rule in the state, but accuses others of being communal when they also put forth similar suggestion, saying that the present dispensation had failed the people of the state and that the President of India must intervene in the state in this time of crisis caused by floods. He himself talks of reorganization of the state, saying that the people of Jammu province and Ladakh regions had suffered massive losses during all these years of accession at the hands of the successive Kashmiri-dominated Governments in the state and that the reorganization of the state had become imperative to empower the neglected people of this province. But when others make similar demands, he terms them communal. He day-in and day-our promises a result-oriented movement in Jammu to get freedom for the "Dogras and Jammu Pradesh", but remains out of the scene for months and months together and hobnobs with those forces who are hostile towards Jammu province and Ladakh region. No one knows whose games he plays. On Tuesday, Bhim Singh took a stand that must have pleased the anti-national forces in Kashmir and India's number one enemy, Pakistan. He urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi not to boycott Pakistan Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif. On the contrary, he asked the Indian Prime Minister to "show his magnanimity being Prime Minister of the largest democracy of the world inviting Nawaz Sharief, Prime Minister of Pakistan at breakfast during his visit to New York". Bhim Singh crossed all the lines when he suggested that "nobody in Pakistan wants war, except a handful politicians and busybodies who have lost jobs or have no responsibility in Pakistan…" and that "the people in India and in Pakistan do not want bullets, blood, war or deaths any more". He not only equated the aggressed upon people of India with the people of aggressor Pakistan, but also willfully withheld the truth that the Pakistani state is virtually a military state, where the democratically-elected Government has no control over the military policy and foreign affairs and where terrorists, ISI and the Army work in tandem against India with a view to grabbing Jammu and Kashmir and causing bloodshed across the nation. Not just this, Bhim Singh also condemned those who want Modi to boycott Sharif in New York. The instigators of war sitting in London and New York should not be allowed to play with the sentiments of people and these were the feelings which I gathered during my recent visit to Pakistan, he said. That he urged the Indian Prime Minister to host breakfast to Nawaz Sharif after his visit to Pakistan speaks for itself. It is a pity that Bhim Singh, who could have become an undisputed leader of Jammu province, has never missed any opportunity that makes others questions his whole political philosophy. |
