| Without posting for 4 months Plus 2 Lecturers decry Govt's apathy | | | Asif Iqbal Naik
Jammu Sept 24: On one hand government of Jammu and Kashmir has issued warning to its absentee employees to return to work or face consequences, on the other, several Plus 2 lecturers repatriated from Leh and Kargil Districts of Ladakh Division are without any posting since last over four months. While talking to "Early Times" several Plus 2 lecturers came down heavily on the state government for its apathy towards their adjustment after their repatriation from Leh and Kargil and threatened to protest against the callous attitude of state govt. These lecturers were repatriated from frontier districts of Leh and Kargil four months ago after serving in the hard terrain for three years and have joined in the directorate of school education at Jammu for further postings/adjustments. "Despite the fact that a large number of posts of lecturers in various subjects are lying vacant in many higher secondary schools of Jammu division, the concerned authorities have been sitting over their adjustment for reasons best known to them" said an angry lecturer preferring anonymity. He said that the callous attitude of the concerned authorities has left the students as well as the lecturers to suffer. They said that they are without salaries since last four months and were finding it difficult to make their ends meet. The lecturers have urged the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to intervene and direct the concerned department to adjust the lecturers suitably. |
