Early Times Report
JAMMU, Sept 24: congratulating the Chairman ISRO, Dr K. Radhakrishnan and his entire team of scientists associated with this prestigious project for achieving this historic feat of successfully inserting a spacecraft in martian orbit, Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha, Ghulam Nabi Azad has said that it's the outcome of persistent hardwork and enduring perseverance of our scientists.
In statement to media, Azad said that MOM was an end-to-end indigenous enterprise, developed and successfully launched by our illustrious scientists at ISRO, thus marking our entry into the select club of countries who have mastered such advance technologies.
Calling it a national accomplishment having global ramifications, Azad said that today's achievement of our space mission has raised our status and esteem in the comity of nations considering the fact that out of the 51 such missions only 21 have succeeded, with none in the first attempt.
Azad further said that India could achieve this unprecedented success in the first attempt which speaks volumes about the unmatched brilliance, remarkable abilities and unflinching commitment of our scientific community.
"Our head bows to our talented scientists at ISRO for accomplishing this outstanding feat. We are proud of you", remarked Azad.
Azad said that though it is an event to be celebrated by the nation, yet this is to remind the people that such landmark achievement is a befitting reply to that class of politicians who keep claiming that nothing has happened in last sixty years, and still never let go any opportunity to take credit without being willing to share the credit with those who had the vision to nurture world class institutions, capable of creating history.
He further added that after the recent success of PSLV- C23, MOM is another feather in the cap of ISRO, and the nation is waiting for the launch of GSLV scheduled for November/December ever since its experimental launch in January 2014.
