| Bovine smuggling foiled, two held | | | Early Times Report Jammu/Doda, Sept 24: Continuing its drive against bovine smuggling, Doda Police foiled a bovine smuggling bid with the arrest of two bovine smugglers while rescuing atleast 11 (eleven bovine animals) from their possession during a naka checking at Goli Bhag in mountainous district Doda. Meahwile hunt is on to nab two absconding bovine smugglers who managed to give slip to police. According to police, during a Naka checking at Goli Bhag, police team intercepted four bovine smugglers. However on seeing police the accused tried to escape but police gave a chase and arrested two of the absconding bovine smugglers. The arrested have been identified namely as Raiz Ahmed s/o Mangata Butt and Bashir Ahmed s/o Nithis Gujjar both of Manjmi Dessa. Meanwhile on their disclosures police have identified the absconding smugglers namely Abdul Latief and Mohd Amin both sons of Ibrahim Gujjar from Manjmi Dessa. Police team also rescued atleast 11 bovine animals from the clutches of bovine smugglers which were being smuggling from Doda to Kashmir Valley. Police have registered a case against FIR No. 183/2014 u/s 379/188 RPC at Police Station Doda against the accused and further investigation is in progress. |
