Cop denied leave, tries to end life

Jammu, Sept 26:A constable posted in District Police Lines (DPL) Jammu last night tried to end his life with his service weapon after he was denied leave and was allegedly misbehaved by seniors in the DPL.
According to police sources a constable identified as Vipan Sharma of Simbal went to Line officer (LO) Inspector Ajay Singh with an application for leave as his son got fracture in his arm but the Line Officer denied him leave.
Sources further alleged that, DySP DAR, Rajinder Singh also misbehaved with the constable owing to which Vipan tried to shoot himself with service weapon but other cops immediately noticing the activity of Vipan Sharma tried to snatch the weapon during which one bullet was shot in air which create panic in the DPL. When Early Times contacted DySP DAR, Raijnder Singh he denied the allegations saying "nothing like that happened in the DPL".
