JMC retrieves state land, demolishes 12 shops | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 1: The Enforcement section of the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) today retrieved state land valuing crores of rupees from the possession of illegal occupants at Maheshpura, Jammu. According to press release, the drive was started October 30, 2014 and with today's exercise all together twelve shops were razed to ground. The encroachment drive has been welcomed by wide spectra of society including S. Surinder Singh Shangari who has in written statement appreciated the action of the Jammu Municipal Corporation. The operation was assisted by SHO, Bakshi Nagar, Jammu Daleep Singh who fully cooperated with the Corporation team and provided police force for the drive. In a separate drive the unsafe building at Panjtirthi, Jammu belonging to Ram Kumar was today demolished. The district Administration and Police Post (I/C) assisted in the demolition. The team was led by Satish Khajuria, Chief Enforcement Officer of the Corporation. The JMC appealed to general public not to undertake any commercial activity within the territorial jurisdiction of Corporation without prior permission from the authorities, failing which strict action under rule shall be initiated against them. |
