Parents of the child namely Channo Ram, a class 5 student, have lodged a complaint against the erring teacher at Police Station Rajbagh. Channo's parents said that the extent of thrashing was such that marks of injury sustained because of spanking were quite visible on child's right thigh. Police have started the preliminary inquiry into the incident and in this connection it summoned the teacher, against whom a complaint of using force was received. Channo Ram's father Hem Raj while narrating the incident told that as usual his son went to school on Friday. He further said that during school hours he entered into an argument with one of his classmates upon which the guilty teacher instead of pacifying the tiff, started mercilessly beating them with a stick. Hemraj, who originally hails from Dudu area of Udhampur District, is already facing lot of difficulties in meeting both ends together due to his poor economic condition. He informed that he left his native place for livelihood and that's why he along with his family is putting up in Hamirpur for the last 10 years. Hemraj alleged that Friday's incident wherein his son was subjected to inhuman treatment is not a new thing as in the past also his ward as well as other students is being humiliated on one pretext or the other. Now, when matter reached upto the level where a teacher has beaten my son, we left with no other option but to approach the police. Meanwhile, Police, which already has taken cognizance of the complaint of Channo Ram's parents, said that if something valid comes out of the investigation, appropriate action under relevant laws will be ensured. |
