Udhampur, Nov 1: A voters' awareness rally "Heritage Walk" under Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) programme was organized in collaboration with Surinsar-Mansar Development Authority, Department of Tourism at tourist spot Mansar here today under the guidance of District Election Officer, Udhampur.
The rally was flagged off by Chief Executive Officer, Surinsar-Mansar Develop-ment Authority, Dr. Vikas Gupta who was also chief guest on the occasion. Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Basantgarh, Deep Raj and Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Ramnagar, Mr. Dharindra Sharma were the guest of honour. On the occasion, chief guest addressed the participants and threw light on importance of the right to vote. He stressed upon the participants to get themselves registered as voters and cast their vote for choosing best representative through the electoral process. Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Basantgarh who is also Returning Officer, Ramnagar, Mr. Deep Raj congratulated the people of the area for showing concern to cast their vote in last Lok Sabha election. He urged upon them to take part in the election process in the upcoming assembly election for the development of the area. |
