APSCC for formation of Govt in J&K | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Jan 13: Expressing concern over the continuous stalemate over the government formation in the state, All Parties Sikh Coordination Committee (APSCC) today asked Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) to form the next government so that miseries of people are set to rest. APSCC Chairman, Jagmohan Singh Raina said that leaders of both PDP and BJP should keep the issues that can lead to problems in the daily governance in the backstage. Raina said that this would ensure that the government runs smoothly with minimum hiccups during the next six years. "It is important that an astute and veteran politician like Mufti Mohammad Sayeed should become the chief minister of the state. He is the only politician among the mainstream political parties that who can take over the reins of the state at this crucial juncture. He needs support to run the government and same should be provided by BJP," said Raina. The APSCC Chairman said that since PDP has got the mandate from Kashmir and BJP from Jammu and it is imperative that both these parties come forward and form the next government in the state. He said that PDP should avoid alliance with NC and Congress as both these parties have been reduced to minorities on political horizon of J&K. "The flood affected people have been left in lurch by the previous government and only an able government can come to their rescue at this moment," he further added. He added that PDP and BJP leaders should have convergence of matters that are applicable to the people of state irrespective of the area they belong to. Youth of Kashmir is suffering because of lacunae in previous government's development policies. They are in desperate needs of employment opportunities, and despite of several vacant posts in government they are unable to get jobs. "Sikhs in the state have been deprived of the status of a minority despite the fact that Minority Commission has recommended for the same many times", he added. |
