Illegal parking at SMGS Hospital's gate creates chaos | | | Nitesh Sangral Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 13: Mismanagement on the part of authorities Shri Maharaja Ghulab Singh (SMGS) Hospital and Traffic Police Jammu is causing inconvenience to patients and their attendants due to unauthorized parking of vehicles in the front of hospital's gate. The hospital authorities while disowning responsibility, maintain that they have taken up the matter with traffic authorities. But the authorities didn't do to remove vehicle from the same place. Officials' sources told Early Times that the unauthorized parking front of hospital's gate has posed several problems for the emergency vehicles, ambulances as well as patients and their attendants to reached final destination. "Neither the administration of the hospital nor the Police personnel are showing any concern to regulate the traffic at entry and exit points," they said. "Some nearby shopkeepers stand their vehicles at unauthorized parking, resulted queue of vehicles in the front gate of hospital," they maintained and adding that, it sometimes takes a lot of time to reach to the emergency ward from the main gate of the hospital. "If any emergency ambulance gets stuck in the traffic jam on the hospital premises, a precious human life could be lost. And it's really very shocking that the concerned authorities are doing nothing to improve the situation," sources added. Talking to Early Times, Medical Superintendent of SMGS hospital Dr. Dara Singh said that hospital administration had already sent three times written latter to Inspector of General of Police (IGP) Traffic for regulate the traffic problems, now one more written letter sent to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) but no action has been taken by traffic police till," he maintained. He further said that the administration had informed to police personnel of Police post at SMGS hospital timely but they also failed to take any action in this regard. When contacted to SSP, Mohan Lal admitted that they had received the letter and action would be taken within two or three days. |
