DC Rajouri reviews progress of various health schemes in district | | | Early Times Report
RAJOURI, Jan 13: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Rajouri, Jatinder Kumar Singh, convened a meeting of District Health Society (DHS)-NHM in the office complex of Chief Medical Officer (CMO). Dr. Rajeev Sharma, CMO (Vice-Chairman DHS) briefed the house about the progress of various schemes under National Health Mission (NHM) and planning in the first three quarters of the current financial year. DDC reviewed the physical and financial progress of various schemes and stressed for a focused approach to achieve the objectives and targets envisaged in the various components of NHM. He directed all the BMOs to monitor the progress of each health institution to provide best health care services to the public. Dr. Rajeev also presented the status of Rashtriya Bal Sawasthya Karikaram (RBSK) and the cases detected among children from all over the district and the details of financial assistance being provided to the children. The agenda was read by the CMO and after the deliberations and healthy discussion in the house, the various significant decisions were taken in the meeting. These include approval for the establishment of SNCU's at Thanamandi and Sunderbani and establishment of district early intervention centre (DEIC) under NHM was also conveyed. DDC took detailed physical and financial review of various ongoing construction works of Sub-centers and Primary Health Centers being executed under district plan funds and called for timely completion of various projects and judiciously use of unspent funds. He directed the concerned agency to hand over such buildings before March 31 where above 90 percent funds have been released to provide better health care services to the public at their door steps. In the meeting of 'district advisory committee' Dr Rajeev apprised the Deputy Commissioner regarding the visits and inspections made in various private diagnostics all over the district under PCPNDT. He also said that above 70 percent deliveries are being conducted to keep mother and child disease free, in the peripheral including about 600 per month in the district hospital. DDC directed all the BMOs to ensure 100 percent institutional deliveries and aware the public to save the girl child through IEC activities. He appreciated the CMO for streamlining the private diagnostics/clinics in the District under PCPNDT Act and also issued directions to him, to make surprise visits to keep a check on these institutions to provide hassle free services to the public. In another meeting of District Task Force IPPI-2015, Dy. CMO Rajouri Dr. Anis Altaf Nabi presented the proposed Plan of Polio vaccination to be administered on January 18 and requested all the members of civil society, NGOs and Health functionaries to aware the public for the same to make state and nation polio free. A meeting related to MDR/IDR was also conducted in which various instructions were given to the health functionaries to reduce the Mortality rates of Mother and children which is the main objective of NHM.
