Neglected remote village craves for basic amenities | | | MS Nazki Early Times Report Poonch, Feb 11: A remote village situated on upper reaches in Mankote tehsil namely Simkon is a neglected one and no attention has been paid by the authorities as the locals have to face a lot of problems in their day to day life here . Simkon Village has a population of 10000 souls and has no facility of high school, health centres , ration depot, Police chowki besides water supply , Electricity and road connectivity . Locals alleged that no person from the administration comes over here nor our pleas are heeded by the concerned authorities. They said we have here two middle and three primary schools here where 90 percent girls of their village have to leave their education midway after 8th class as high school from this place is 16 kms away in Mankote. Our girls do want to go for higher studies but covering a distance of 32 kilometres to and fro was out of question for them said Abdul Hamid , parent of a girl student. Lambasting the authorities for paying no attention to Simkon Village and its peripherals including Topa , Thera , Kaine and other hemlets locals said in absence of a health centre one can imagine how difficult our lives are here . We lack even basic amenities here . We don't have here Educational facility health and ration besides a police post though the village falls near to Loc, they added. They further said that 3Km long link road from Thera to Pothi shrine is in dilapidated condition and also Ramkund to Pothi Shrine 5km long link road is in bad shape . If these two vital links would be made functional a lot of distance could get reduced to reach the main road said ex sarpanch Ch. Makahana adding authorities must make arrangements for the people so that our difficulties we are facing in our day to day lives can be reduced , he added. |
